Having now returned from my fabulous trip, my pre-trip life has changed direction. I accepted voluntary severance from work in March 2011, presenting me with the opportunity to work on a book of my trip experience, which I am undertaking with gusto - but doesn't it take much longer than you expected it would?! Life is a little on hold until it is finished.
I love giving illustrated talks - and am always up for new engagements. Feel free to contact me. :-)
Ideas for future projects abound: walking to Santiago; cycling a Scandinavian circuit; how about the remaining bits of the Pacific Rim (à la Michael Palin's Full Circle)? But all tempered, of course, by the basic requirement for some form of income.
One thing my trip has taught me is to live in the present much more than I am wont to do and not worry unduly about the future, which, with faith, tends to take care of itself.
For those of you who have been following my site over the past three and a half years, you will now see something of a re-vamp, in an attempt to keep moving it into the present. For newcomers, it means you are not thrown disconcertingly into the past, bewilderingly trying to crawl into today. You'll see what I mean if you click on the Trip tab.
